Adhesion of Nano-ZnO Modified Asphalt and Its Influence on Moisture-Sensitive Properties of Mixtures

This study investigates the effect of nano-ZnO on modified asphalt’s adhesion characteristics by preparing various mixtures with 0%, 1%, 2%, and 3% contents. Within context, asphalt different to limestone, basalt, granite contents are studied using a boiling test. The surface-free energy (SFE) parameters four three aggregate types evaluated theoretical approach then verified performing pull-off tests, work between aggregates is calculated. In addition, moisture-sensitive properties mixture assessed freeze-thaw split test semicircle bending (SCB) results have shown that can enhance asphalt. surface high ZnO content relatively larger, limestone better than basalt granite. aggregates’ chemical composition SFE’s significantly affect aggregates. Furthermore, correlation theory ones. Nano-ZnO enhances mixture’s moisture sensitivity before after cycles impacts initial state’s tensile strength cracks resistance, especially where improvement obvious.
